Taj Sawai is a luxurious sanctuary amidst untamed wilderness in the heart of Ranthambore
Part of the Taj Group, the property is composed of deluxe and luxury rooms with intimate open spaces like private courtyards. For this relaxing and natural haven, Pomoco was commissioned by Craftcanvas in collaboration with Studio Lotus to create four artworks for the luxury suites inspired by the flora and fauna of Ranthambore.
Borrowed from the various detailed textures of the terrain, including animals, trees, desert sand, seeds, leaves and fruits, a highly intricate landscape came to life using miniature painting style for the visual language.
The horizontal composition is a blend of flora and fauna whereas the vertical maintains fauna as a central motif with a rich arrangement of trees around it. A visual continuity and coherence was maintained by creating a library for the textures and trees as an initial step in the design process and then arranging the elements to create the final compositions.
A monochromatic color palette allowed the highly intricate line work to highlight each element in its own right as something a viewer could identify from their time around the national park.
Working with the refined and elegant interiors of a Taj property, the artworks have been a visual treat for the guests at the Taj Sawai to enjoy and to admire.
