India Record Co started as an independent record store in 2020, based out of Mumbai, and coinciding with the beginnings of analog revival during covid
Our friend Nehal, approached us with the responsibility of building a visual identity. Growing from its initial focus on the retail front, India Record Co evolved into a lot more. Nehal now travels and curates events, pop ups and listening sessions, and very recently has shifted base to Goa, where she’s opening a physical record store in collaboration with cafe Ninety7.in in a shared space.

While designing the logo, the brief was clear, we were designing what makes the brand the curation through Nehal’s lens and so we tried to integrate the eye at the center of the vinyl form, and it worked quite well.
The shape and slant of the letter ‘O’ in the typography mirroring that of the eye gave it a very intentional connection to the logo. A bright, 1970s-inspired color palette gave the identity a more social and approachable character, reflecting the community that surrounds analogue record culture.
Pomoco extended the identity into a series of stickers and guide cards designed to accompany records, adding functional yet slightly informal objects to the brand memory
Rather than relying on a traditional archival aesthetic, the visual language embraced the energy of collecting, listening, and discovering music together.

Together, these elements gave India Record Co a visual identity that moves beyond the physical record store and adapts to its evolving role as a platform for music and community
