Tsaku Clothing is a sustainable slow fashion brand bringing the Indian and Japanese design cultures together
Their collections feature casual, comfortable and conscious clothing ranging from more geometric Khadi pieces to Graphic t-shirts. For the Shizen collection, Pomoco was roped in during concept development as a collaborator which was built around the five foundational elements shared between the cultures through Buddhism–earth, water, fire, wind and sky.
The symbol identity for the collection is derived from Gorinto, a Japanese type of Buddhist pagoda which represents the five elements
The visual treatment for the collection was aimed towards streetwear graphic aesthetics, leaning heavily on typography for the compositions, allowing the identity to move between different formats.
Every t-shirt in the collection sports the Shizen identity and each element was designated a color. There are six t-shirts in total, one for each element and an additional one in black and white. Pomoco also designed the retail paper tags, extending the collection identity.
Collaboration on the creative direction, post-production, and editing for the catalogue and imagery in collaboration with Devvrat, founder of Tsaku, created an end-to-end visual treatment that combined a 90s–Y2K flash aesthetic.
Parallel to Amdavad street style, connecting the collection’s cross-cultural reference to an urban youth-oriented context.
