Hetal’s Homemade is a family-run business that began in 1999 and has grown over the past two decades into a widely loved brand offering handmade sweets, festive beverages, and flavoured coffees. Its ethos is deeply rooted in familial kitchen traditions, especially those passed down through Hetal Jhaveri’s mother-in-law. With a menu of over 32 distinctive sweet offerings, the brand combines the warmth of home with festive elegance. Known for its thoughtful packaging,

Hetal’s Homemade approached Pomoco for a third time in 2022 to design their Diwali Special Edition packaging, this time, seeking to mark a shift in spirit following the prolonged disruption of the pandemic. Pomoco developed the theme ‘Seven Suns of Hope,’ a metaphorical representation of healing and renewal after a period of collective grief and uncertainty.

The design referenced Kerala’s mural art style and reinterpreted it into free-flowing line illustrations. The illustration was intentionally unanchored without a top or bottom, so that the artwork could be viewed and enjoyed from any perspective. Sun motifs, symbolised the passing of time and the gradual return of warmth, while sunflowers stood in as markers of brightness and continuity. The concept aimed to balance emotional gravity with lightness, using visual storytelling to invite quiet reflection during celebration. The colour palette leaned into deep midnight blues as a grounding base, punctuated by bursts of saffron orange and sunflower yellow.

The illustrations were applied across mithai boxes, coffee sleeves, and hamper packaging. ‘Seven Suns of Hope’ extended Hetal’s visual tradition of celebrating family and festivity through design that felt grounded, introspective, and quietly radiant.

Our dear friend Mehul and his wife-to-be Vishakha approached Pomoco to design a fully digital wedding invitation rooted in their heritage from Nathdwara, Udaipur. They specifically wanted to incorporate the Pichhwai art style as a nod to their cultural background, while keeping the layout suited to modern viewing, primarily on mobile devices. The brief called for a balance between tradition and clarity, with minimal ornamentation and smooth functionality.

Designed as a continuous vertical scroll, the invitation covered four key wedding ceremonies. We created custom Pichhwai-inspired illustrations featuring narrative elements drawn from traditional Rajasthani architecture, domestic spaces, and rituals. A bespoke emblem combining the couple’s initials was developed with a focus on legibility and minimal form rather than intricate detailing. To ensure readability on small screens, the typography was kept clean and proportioned. The emblem was also adapted for use on guest gift tags.

A restrained colour palette of whites, lush greens, and dark blues helped preserve cultural reference without overwhelming the visuals. A sense of visual flatness and generous negative space supported performance and clarity across digital devices. The wedding invitation successfully brought together traditional visual cues and efficient digital delivery resulting in an invitation that felt both grounded and contemporary.
