Leapfrog is a career-oriented book that explores how individuals, particularly new entrants in professional environments, can rapidly excel and outperform expectations
Rooted in behavioral science, design thinking, and personal development, the book breaks down high performance into six evidence-based practices: developing grit, nudging better choices, intellectual humility, interdisciplinary thinking, curating relevance, and entrepreneurial mindset. Each chapter builds toward a practical and actionable framework called the Personal Journey Map (PJM), developed by the authors through years of teaching and mentoring.
The book is designed to serve professionals, students, and lifelong learners looking for a roadmap to thrive in modern workspaces.
Pomoco was brought on to design a comprehensive set of editorial illustrations for the book, aimed at making the subject matter visually engaging and easy to follow
Given the book’s mass-market reach and broad audience, our visual language prioritised simplicity, recognisability, and scalability. We developed a cast of stylised, slightly exaggerated characters to reflect relatable workplace scenarios, allowing readers to see themselves in the examples. Each illustration was carefully placed to reflect key ideas in the text, often serving as metaphorical or narrative cues that make abstract concepts more tangible and memorable.
To further enhance the reading experience, Pomoco also illustrated and styled the infographics embedded throughout the chapters. These graphics carry essential takeaways and models, particularly the PJM framework.
We were tasked with ensuring that the visual treatment was not just decorative but instructional. We worked closely with the authors to translate dense ideas into clear, digestible diagrams that could sit comfortably within the book’s layout.
The illustrative accents across these sections serve to retain clarity while introducing moments of pause and visual interest. Altogether, our intervention helped bridge academic insight with everyday accessibility, ensuring the book remained both informative and inviting across all touchpoints.
